JESMOND DENE HOUSE AWARDED 2014 TRIPADVISOR CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE

Recognised as a Top Performing Hotel as Reviewed by Travellers on the
World’s Largest Travel Site

Jesmond Dene House, a beautiful Arts & Crafts property near Newcastle, today announced that it has received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Establishments awarded the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website.

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honourees that takes into account reviews ratings.  Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, volume and recency of reviews. Additional criteria include a business’ tenure and popularity ranking on the site.

“Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a true source of pride for the entire team at Jesmond Dene House and we’d like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor,” said Scott Davidson, General Manager. “There is no greater seal of approval than being recognised by one’s customers. With the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence based on customer reviews, the accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to our business and our continued commitment to excellence.”

“TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional hospitality businesses for consistent excellence,” said Marc Charron, President of TripAdvisor for Business. “The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers. From Australia to Zimbabwe, we want to applaud exceptional hospitality businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience.”

Five Top Things to Do in Rome during the Summer by Hotel Hassler!
Summer time in Rome is an experience not to be missed. Warm weather and longer days are the perfect backdrop for your Roman adventure.
1) Leisurely strolls along the narrow cobble-stoned streets of the old parts of the historic centre, such as the areas of Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Monti.
2) A bike ride (which guests to 5 star Hotel Hassler can use on a complimentary basis) in one of the city’s beautiful parks, such as the Villa Borghese located just five minutes away from the Hassler, or Villa Ada and Villa Pamphili.
3) An evening aperitif in an historic piazza such as Campo de’ Fiori or PiazzaTrilussa in the heart of Trastevere.
4) A gelato in one of Rome’s top quality ice cream shops, such as Rome’s traditional favourites such as Giolitti, San Crispinoand Mondi. However, one must ask around for suggestions since this is a hotly-debated topic, upon which Romans love to discuss and give their own opinion!!
5) Enjoy an opera or a ballet in the Roman-era Terme di Caracalla, the second largest Roman public baths, orthermae, built between AD 212 and 216.

Sunburn Soothing Tips by SenSpa

SenSpa Sunburn Soothing Tips - www.senspa.co.uk
We know how hard it is to resist the first few rays of the summer sunshine so for all our SenSpa fans who are looking a little pink today, here are our top sunburn remedies to soothe your skin.
Aloe Vera
Taken from your own plant or you can buy the gel in a health food store.  Apply neat to burnt skin.
Cucumber
Pop one or two in a blender and apply to the skin. If you have mint in the garden add a few leaves for further refreshment. You can also soak a piece of muslin in the mixture and lay it on the sunburned areas.
Green Tea
Make a pot of green tea, allow it cool or place it in the fridge. Soak some muslin in the tea and apply to the skin. Leave on for 30 minutes.
And here is the best tip of all
To help prevent sunburn, eat tomatoes. They contain lycopene which strengthens the body’s resistance to UV rays.
