PRESS RELEASE

ANYTIME ANYWHERE - DAYTIME DINING AT JESMOND DENE HOUSE.

Jesmond Dene House Hotel, one of Newcastle’s finest residential buildings and set in the leafy Jesmond area of the city is now offering flexible dining. As of March this year the hotel has launched a new concept in daytime dining in order to encourage greater convenience to the diner and further flexibility in the services offered by the Restaurant.

The Hotel is providing all guests (both resident and non-resident) the opportunity to take advantage of all the restaurant has to offer.  Bookings are not necessary, allowing guests the freedom to come and dine from the new menu at their leisure. Served between 10.30am and 5pm, a whole range of goodies are available. Never before has the hotel offered such a wide variety of dishes available during the day. Enjoy everything from Porridge & Single Malt Whisky, Craster Kipper & Seaweed Butter, Croque Monsieur or Steak and Chips, to Doughnuts, Florentines, Macaroons and Cream Teas. So if you fancy breakfast at 5pm or scones mid-morning this is fine. For those who prefer a set lunch, this is available too with both a 2 and 3 course menu on offer priced at £22 and £25.

All offerings are served in the restaurant and lounges of the hotel so if you wish to sit at a leisurely table by the fire and look out over the gorgeous garden into the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene you may. In fact the new daytime dining menu can be taken in any of the ground floor areas of the Hotel including the Restaurant, the light and leafy Garden Room, the Billiard Room or the cocktail bar. In the summer this will also be extended to be available outside on the terrace area with its summer terrace. There are no dress codes and no formality and service is assured and professional yet warm and friendly.

The Restaurant at Jesmond Dene House along with its menus, are deliberately designed to be accessible to everyone. In addition, there is still the formal dining offered from the House and Dinner menus, the ten-course tasting menu (£75) in the evening as well as a family-friendly Sunday Lunch menu.

The Restaurant at this historically rich Arts and Crafts mansion (Grade ll Listed) was awarded three AA Rosettes in September 2009 and operates under the direction of Head Chef Michael Penaluna. Together with his team, Michael makes it his business to get to know local suppliers and then coupled with his skills and their knowledge of the produce, Michael creates dishes that enhance flavours. Classic techniques are favoured with a contemporary approach, meaning that light, fresh and flavoursome Modern British dishes are offered.

Michael says “My ambition is to continue to improve standards of food and service so that Jesmond Dene House is consistently associated with offering some of the best food in the north east.”

The full range of menus and wine list can be downloaded from the Restaurant, Bar & Lounge sections of the website.
